Freedom of speech! The show today on billboards raises the ? is it okay to allow the $$ (corps) to control all public voice because they can buy it.When the USA was founded it was posited that freedom of speech would enable ideas to be exchanged and the best to win. But since then the ability to control the public sphere has mushroomed. Corporations can purchase the public airwaves, public views, and political access in ways never imagined by Franklin, Jefferson, etc. Graffiti on billboards is just one tiny way a person or group can interject their ideas into the corporation controlled idea-sphere. We need to find a better way of allowing access to the public mind than the current method - money wins.
