Dear Ruby, Why did you show a basket full of citrus fruit on the web in your article about 'Local farms thriving' as an example of a CSA share? As the Small Farm Program Coordinator at WSDA I'm very passionate about supporting all efforts toward developing our local food systems. We do a disservice to our farmers when we missrepresent what a true CSA is all about, i.e. Community Supported Agriculture. A well established means for a community of 'co-producers' to participate in the risks as well as the rewards of the hard work and long hours that go into producing wholesome, local food. Seasonality and regionality are key factors in educating consumers about sustainable food systems. If you are interested, I would love the opportunity to discuss this further. Thank you, Fred (fberman@agr.wa.gov), 360.676.2059
