Has the recession impacted the rate of pregnancies in this area or across the country?I constantly hear how the recession has impacted housing, jobs, car sales, bankruptcies, and so on..... but I still see so many pregnant women walking around at festivals and in stores, which means that they got pregnant since the recession was announced. We have been told that the recession and the associated problems could last for years. Did these women take this into consideration when they got pregnant? Are there any statistics available yet on this aspect of the population's response to the recession? Do these women worry about being able to afford the costs of having the children at this time? Why didn't they wait until the economy hopefully turns around? How do all the unemployed future parents plan to support the new mouths to feed?
